Selling Sunset

Netflix Originals — Branding + Show Graphics
+ Information

Centered around The Oppenheim Group, Netflix’s Selling Sunset, follows a Sunset Boulevard real estate firm as they sell the highlife to their affluent clientele. When Adam Divello’s Done and Done Productions approached us, it was clear that this was anything but your run-of-the-mill reality show.

As Netflix’s first foray into the docu-soap genre, the producers wanted to create a brand ecosystem that would embody the aesthetics of contemporary luxury realty and interior design. After extensive research we created a custom typeface using elegant, elongated letterforms, rendered in full 3D. The result are light catching gold forms, the building blocks of not only the opening title sequence, but all aspects of the shows branding; from web, to billboards, even the red carpet premiere.

In addition to these traditional show package elements, we crafted motion renderings of concept homes, contemporary mansions and luxury apartments drawn directly from the original architectural plans, and optimized in 3D for the screen. The result was a complete graphic identity that helped elevate the show above simple genre fare to one of Netflix’s newest hits.
